Neologism of the Day: Podestrian

27 Mar

Because words are all we got, it wouldn’t hurt to learn new words every now and then. To start off let me share with you a new word which I heard on TV one morning: PODESTRIAN.

According to urbandictionary.com, a Podestrian (iPod + pedestrian) is “a person who can be spotted with the iconic white standard iPod earbuds in their ears.”

Podestrian

So as not to make the term exclusive to iPod users only, the term may be extended to others who sport earphones connected to MP3 players while walking on the the streets. They are oblivious to what’s happening around them and are prone to accident. He he…

Usage: A couple of podestrians bumped into a glass this morning because they weren’t paying attention to what’s ahead of them.
